The siding was replaced with new hardi plank and Roell Painting worked with the client choosing colors to match their shingles and brick. This home in Plymouth had a lot going on prior to Roell Painting arriving. Two colors on the windows was just too busy. Nick Roell worked with the client to focus the design aesthetic to achieve a more pleasing look. This home’s cedar shakes had been deteriorated after years in the harsh, direct sunlight. Roell Painting used a Cabot’s Semi Solid stain to refinish the shakes while also maintaining the rustic character of this home. This homeowner in Plymouth desired more curb appeal for their home. They wanted to update the aesthetic to a more modern paint job. This 100 year old farm house hadn’t been painted in what seemed like 30 years. There was a tremendous amount of peeling and failing paint on the home. The color scheme dated back to the 70’s and required updating. If you look close, you can see spilled paint on the siding from previous paint jobs. Roell Painting spent an immense amount of time scraping and caulking this home. The original “stucco” siding had never been painted and we found a specialty product to use in this situation. The product not only coated the substrate properly, it also waterproofed it and spanned many of the cracks that were present. This incredible lake home in Minnetonka was another challenging project for Roell Painting. The client contacted Roell Painting when the leaves were falling off the trees and winter was approaching. Roell Painting organized two of their crews to work on this project simultaneously and finished before snow was on the ground. This feat is impressive when there are over 60+ windows, brand new siding and the client wanted a color change! There is no job too big for Roell Painting. This home had not been touched since being built about ten years ago. The shakes were weathered and the client desired a color change. Roell Painting went to another home in the area the client liked and asked for their paint color. Surprised and flattered by the request, the neighbor gave me the color. Roell Painting moved forward applying a color sample and after approval painted the home. The difference from before to after is breathtaking. Here is another photo of a home using the Sikken’s Cetol 1-2 system. This project was challenging as the lap siding was one color stain and the soffits were a natural stain. Any overspray on the soffits would stick out like a sore throat and worse could not be fixed easily. While challenging, the end result was rewarding and a project Roell Painting could be proud of. Roell Painting specializes in using Sikken’s stains. This client wanted to use the Cetol 1-2 system but was frustrated by the lack of colors he could select in that product. Roell Painting took the time to work with the client by providing samples after every coat of finish. At the end of project, the client was delighted that Roell Painting was able to deliver the color he had in his head. This project in Wayzata is another example of a project in which client had trouble finding the color they wanted for their garage door. Roell Painting used a dry-brushing technique with several different stains to achieve the result the client desired. Roell Painting enjoys working on challenging projects and works hard to achieve the goal of the client. Nick Roell and the homeowner’s spent much time in front of this house debating colors and what to trim pieces to accent. We discussed what trends were going on in the housing industry and how we could update their home. We added color around the windows and trim that accentuated the architectural details of the home. This Edina residence was incredibly difficult because of the amount of trim detail. Roell Painting used a semi-solid stain on the home to accent the natural look of the cedar shakes and applied a stark white paint to the trim. Also note, none of the landscaping was damaged during this project!!! This is one of the beautiful cabins Roell Painting has worked on in the Brainerd Lakes area. This project was stained with a dark stain to help the cabin appear more rustic. After we were finished painting, a chinking process was used to help further this appearance. This client wanted to keep the natural tones of the cedar shakes as the look of their home. Roell Painting used a Cabot’s Natural stain on the shakes. This finish is beautiful but does require regular maintenance (pressure washing and re-staining every 2-4 years!) Another example of a lake home in the Brainerd Lakes area that Roell Painting completed. This project required us to use two different stain colors to create create depth as well as highlight the half log siding and full log accent pieces. This barn in Minnetrista was spent years in the elements untouched and had been recently battered from a hail storm. Roell Painting spent a tremendous amount of time prepping this project before applying any finish coats. This Plymouth deck had not been sealed and “grayed” out. Roell Painting took care in pressure washing the deck and worked with the client as they selected this redwood stain color for their project. Roell Painting has found that craftsman style doors are making a big comeback with remodelers, builders and homeowners. We are mindful to use the correct products to make your door stay protected while looking fabulous. Notice the stone around this front entry soffit, impressive. What is more impressive however is that you don’t see any stain or over spray on that stone! You can depend on Roell Painting to take great care in their work. One of the many new construction hardi plank homes Roell Painting completes every year. Notice the different siding; lap siding, board & batten siding and shakes all with different colors and sheens. This homeowner was astonished by the amount of prep Roell Painting put into the project. One can see by this photo that if the family dog was walking in the yard, it was probably covered! This home in Minnetrista had an incredible amount of detail and architectural gables that presented difficult ladder angles for Roell Painting. The client was extremely pleased with the outcome as were we. The pillars should be noticted in this picture. This client chose to use a two color scheme on the pillars. Highlight the trim areas with white while leaving the field area the same color as the siding. This front door had been sprayed by wildlife thinking it was a bush. Roell Painting sanded the door, bleached out the “stains” and re-finished the door back to it’s original beauty and luster. Roell Painting worked with this client to find a color that would match their stone. The client and Roell Painting think the color selection was perfect. This new construction home in Orono had another complicated mix of substrates and colors. Four colors on the front of the home alone! This Minnetrista home was painted with a cape cod gray and accented with a stark white. This is a very classic look! Painting of the soffits and fascia on this home in Eagan. Larson House Whiting House Residential interiors Roell Painting Company finished this entire kitchen in Independence. We worked diligently with the homeowner to find the right enamel and stain combination. We are proud that the end product is a place where any cook would be happy to put on their apron. This homeowner was over the yellow on the walls and wanted something to match their new vanity and granite. Vanity Railings We enameled this beamed ceiling and the client wanted to paint the ceiling in the same white color. We suggested to lighten the wall color and paint that on the ceiling, the client agreed. This helped the beams achieve the glory they deserved. High ceilings + eggshell sheen = No problem for Roell Painting Residential Floors We applied two epoxy coats followed by two urethane coats with decorative chips. We can make your old garage floor look beautiful.
